Adoption Cost
In attorney assisted
private adoptions, there is typically no cost to birth parents. Birth
parent expenses, including attorney fees, are typically paid by the
adoptive parents. Adoptive parents pay Dykema’s competitive
hourly rate for attorney services as well as the charges of the birth
parent’s attorney. Adoptive parents also typically pay any legal birth
parent living expenses that are mutually agreed. If either birth parent
has adoption counseling from a social worker or similar professional,
Michigan law requires the adoptive parents to cover the cost.

brochure.
